May the Weekends Always Be Long

May long weekend serves as the perpetual kickoff to summer.

This past weekend our family spent time at our cabin off the grid, preparing for the time we'll be spending there this summer. I made some planters from wildflowers found in the fields, the kids made lemonade popsicles and the gnomes of the enchanted forest returned a letter to the kids finally revealing their names. Slow-parenting at its finest.

Being away from the bustle of a city, even for a day, feels like a complete recharge. There’s lots we’re planning on editing in our cabin as time moves on. It is absolutely our sanctuary, a space we pour so much love into as it holds our memories. For the time being, however, time was best spent absorbing our children while they play on the beach. They’re only young once, right?
